Tickopedia

Built for local event journeys

A ticketing flow that fits how events move in Kenya.

Tickopedia brings event discovery, online ticket sales and event-day validation into one platform. Buyers can find a public event, combine available ticket types and approve an M-PESA prompt. Organizers can publish the event, monitor inventory and validate issued QR tickets at the door.

What the platform supports

Tools for the work behind every ticket

The experience is useful for Kenyan organizers and audiences while the underlying public-event architecture remains ready for events in more locations and markets.

01

Local event discovery

Public event pages connect real venues, dates, categories and Kenyan organizer profiles to searchable, shareable URLs.

02

M-PESA checkout

The payment phone can be entered at checkout, including a different valid number for a signed-in customer, and success always comes from backend confirmation.

03

Kenyan mobile validation

Checkout accepts supported 07, 01, 254 and +254 mobile formats while keeping payment credentials and backend secrets away from the browser.

04

Email ticket delivery

Guest buyers verify their email before payment so confirmed tickets can reach the address they control.

05

QR-code entry

Organizers scan a ticket value that resolves to the same backend ticket record used by customer and emailed passes.

06

Nairobi and city discovery

Location pages are generated only when Tickopedia has real published inventory for that city, avoiding empty or misleading event directories.

How it works

From setup to the moment itself

  1. 1

    Find a published event

Browse Tickopedia or follow a clean link shared by an organizer, venue, university, artist or partner.

  2. 2

    Pay from a supported phone

Select tickets, confirm your contact route and approve the M-PESA request on the phone chosen for payment.

  3. 3

    Use the issued ticket

Open the emailed or account ticket and present its QR code for one-time validation at entry.

Practical questions

Clear answers before you begin

Can I buy without a Tickopedia account?

Yes. Guest checkout is the default for signed-out buyers and uses email verification before payment.

Does the payment phone have to match my profile?

No. A signed-in customer can use a different valid payment number without overwriting the private profile phone number.

Are events limited to Nairobi?

No. Tickopedia can publish events wherever organizers operate. City pages are added to search only when enough real event inventory is available.
